Bangkok is famous for almost everything. Despite traveled to more than 20 cities so far, Bangkok certainly rank No 1 in the following
1. Street food
2. Massages
3. Shopping and night markets!

It's my ritual to scoop around night markets in Bangkok whenever I visited there. Today, I will cover the best night/afternoon markets that's a must visit if you like to eat and shop at a bargain!

1. Rod Fai Market at Srinakarin

Location:- Behind Seacon Square in Srinakarin

How to get there:- Taxi. Just tell the driver Rod Fai market in Srinakarin. Or Seacon Square. No MRT or BTS access available

This is by far the best night markets in Bangkok. All locals know this markets and if you go there, you can hardly see any foreigners. If it's cater for local, of course, all the things is cheaper! You can have your dinner there as well. Dinner, shopping, Supper, go home. Cool?

How cheap is cheap? If you are buying a t-shirt in Jatujak market for 120-150 baht, you can easily get the same t-shirt for 80-100 baht here.

Try out the supermarkets/mall too. Seacon Square is also an interesting mall to walk around. The food court is all Thai. No English menu, but there's picture. Now this is local.

Features

  • Cheap
  • Large (hundreds of stalls)
  • Lots of food to eat
  • Spacious. You won't walk until sweating.

This is a newer version of Rod Fai market, known as Rod Fai II. Pretty large but rank 2, because losing out in number of stalls and bargains. 70% size of Rod Fai in Srinakarin maybe.

3. Jatujak Green

Location:- Walking distance from BTS - Mo Chit Station or MRT - Chatuchak Park station. It's just beside the morning/afternoon Jatujak market.

How to get there:- MRT or BTS.

Besides the normal stuff night market offers, this night market offers alot of retro stuff. Alot of stalls selling motorcycles parts and accessories too. The food court is large which offers varities of food and there's quite a number of drinking shops to choose from. Walking space is pretty tight as compare to both Rod Fai, but much more spacious than Pratunam. Prices are quite a bargain too.
