Hong Kong the food heaven

Hong Kong is a place renowned for shopping. Little did people know, it also offer various tasty Chinese food. I have been to Hong Kong for more than 10 times and in fact, the main reason I keep re-visit this place is because of the foods.

1. Dim Sum

Did you see TVB shows where people having dim sum in the restaurants or having queue, taking numbers to have dim sum? If you didn't had dim sum as breakfast, you are missing a massive thing. Usually, tourists will be having breakfast on the ground floor shops/restaurants that offer breakfast sets (noddles, breads). Normally a breakfast set cost HKD 40. If 4 people, it will cost HKD 160.

For HKD 160-200 for 4 people, depending what you eat, you can enjoy a great breakfast on those dim-sum restaurants, slowly and casually eating dim sum and sipping Chinese tea. And the great thing is, these restaurants won't rush you out even after you finish eating as there's ample of seats, unlike those small restaurants at the ground floor.

Where to find these restaurants? Look up instead! All these dim sum restaurants are situated at the top level of the buildings. None of the restaurants will be at the ground level. Don't be afraid to go in even though it looks luxurious. In fact, the price is cheaper than those mini shops at the ground floor.

Air conditioned, spacious dim sum restaurants

Only HKD 8- HKD 15 per plate.

Can't beat those Taiwanese restaurants in terms of taste but worth a try as it's much cheaper

2. Goose rice

If you are Malaysian, you will know it's hard to find goose rice. And even if you find one, most likely it won't beat the taste in HK. You can simply enter any shop and try their goose rice. I'm sure you will remember the taste once you try it. Quite costly, usually starts at HKD 40 per plate but the portion is quite big. Gal won't be able to finish it alone.

3. Wanton mee (Sai yung)

I have to say, this restaurant offers the best wanton mee I have eaten in my life. None of the wanton mee that I have eaten in Malaysia and Singapore is tastier than this. And the taste actually beat all other wanton mee competitors by a few streets. Must try if you like to eat wanton mee!

All gone into stomach!

4. Tea-break

Instead of keep shopping, take a break and enjoy a tea-break at their cafes. Pineapple-tart, buns and noddles can be found easily at most of the streets. Most foods won't disappoint. What a great way to pamper your stomach in the afternoon

5. McDonalds fried chicken (personal favourite)

If you like ayam goreng McD in Malaysia, you will love the fried chickens in Hong Kong. Different size, different taste but it offers a taste that make you longing for more!

6. Seafood

Not a must eat thing, but if you have money to spare, why not? Dine in Sai Kung pier, where most Hongkies go is quite an experience to remember. Most importantly, the taste is great even though it's not a must taste food in Hong Kong. That's why it's listed as 6th :)
